Three-bedroom private villas in our portfolio, compared — by beach access, layout, and price.
For a family of 6, a 3-bedroom private villa is almost always the right size. Each bedroom is en-suite, every villa has a private pool, and the rate is significantly below what 4-bedroom homes command. The harder question — and the one most families get wrong — is which 3-bedroom villa to choose.
KW Villas Koh Samui has three 3-bedroom residences across two distinct neighbourhoods. Here's how they differ in practice.
The KW³ Compound is a private gated lane in Maenam, two minutes' walk from the beach. The walk is flat, paved, and unhurried — children can run ahead, suitcases roll, and grandparents make the trip without difficulty. There are no shuttles, no transfers, no driveways involved.
KW³ Garden Residence is the most beach-adjacent and most accessibly priced 3-bedroom villa in our portfolio. Three en-suite bedrooms open onto a private pool and a 680sqm garden. Single-storey, with all bedrooms on the main level. The compound is gated and watched 24 hours, so children can move between the villa, garden and (with parents) the lane, with everyone relaxed.
This is the most-booked villa in our portfolio for families of 2–6 with young children. It pairs particularly well with a private nanny — the compound is safe enough that nanny and children can use the lane and garden while parents enjoy a longer afternoon by the pool.

Same compound, same beach walk, larger plot. KW³ Pavilion Residence sits on 780sqm — a hundred extra square metres go into a covered outdoor sala designed for long lunches and afternoon reading. The pool is the same generous size, and the architectural language is identical.
For families who entertain — or who travel with another couple visiting for a weekend within the holiday — the extra outdoor dining and lounging space justifies the rate difference. The covered sala also makes Pavilion the better choice for stays during shoulder-season showers, when an open lawn is briefly less inviting.

Soma is a different proposition entirely. It sits on the Bangpor hillside above the bay — sea-facing, sunset-facing, with a pool that overhangs the canopy. The view is the entire reason to choose it. The trade-off is that the beach is no longer two minutes on foot; it's a 5-minute drive.
For families with older children (eight and up), this rarely matters. The villa rhythm becomes pool-and-view in the morning and afternoon, with one short drive to the beach for swimming and dinner. Couples who travel with one or two children — or grandparents seeking quiet — often prefer Soma over the busier compound feel of KW³.
Soma is multi-level, so it's not ideal for very young children or anyone with mobility limitations. Pool fencing is installed on request.
3 bedrooms (Seaview) · 260 sqm · sleeps 6 · multi-level · panoramic Bangpor Bay view · west-facing pool · from THB 10,800/night.
Three quick filters get most families to the right answer:
Are 3 bedrooms really enough for 6 adults? Yes. Each room is a fully en-suite bedroom — typically two doubles plus a twin, configurable on request. Six adults sleep comfortably; six guests with extra beds for children is also workable.
What if we're 7 or 8 people? Switch to a 4-bedroom — see our Family of 8 guide.
Can I book multiple KW³ villas together? Yes — the KW³ Compound has 8 villas in total, all bookable as a group for up to 48 guests. Ask our concierge for combined-villa rates.
